Merry Christmas!
Step back in time to an era when communication was an art form, beautifully captured on vintage postcards. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, postcards were more than just a means to send a quick message; they were a window into the world, a reflection of culture, and a testament to human connection.
Woolsey, a community with a rich history, was a part of this vibrant exchange. Until September 6, 1982, its post office served as a hub for sending and receiving these miniature works of art. The last official postmaster, Mary Ellen Moore Sams, would have overseen the dispatch of countless postcards, each marked with a personal touch.
Each card tells a story, capturing moments and memories that transcend time. Whether it's the unique artistry, the heartfelt messages, or the historical significance, these postcards are treasures that deserve to be celebrated and shared.
Join us in preserving this beautiful legacy by contributing your postcards to our collection. We'd like to share this vintage Christmas postcard to Ruth McLean of Woolsey from her grandmother. Let's keep the stories alive and honor the creativity of those who came before us by sharing their stories. From Friends of Historic Woolsey, we wish you a Merry Christmas!
