Discover Our Community Projects
We actively partner with residents, The Fayette County Historical Society, families, supporters, friends, businesses, and the town council to bring historic, educational, and cultural opportunities to life. We invite you to explore our current preservation efforts and community initiatives:
-
Historic Property Restoration: Our primary focus is the comprehensive restoration of the 1889 church, alongside rehabilitation of the classrooms, the annex, and the surrounding historic landscape.
-
Cemetery and Landscape Preservation and Stewardship: Our mission at the Historic Woolsey Cemetery is to preserve the site's rich heritage through diligent grounds maintenance and the conservation of our historic monuments. We are committed to honoring those interred here by using radar mapping to identify and memorialize unmarked graves, while simultaneously serving as dedicated stewards of the entire property’s landscape and historic oak trees.
-
Digital Living History Projects: We invite you to explore our website to uncover the town's roots, view modern community galleries, and help us identify the unknown portraits in our Faces of Woolsey mystery gallery. Visit our Community: Past and Present page to celebrate the faces, places, and small-town charm that make Woolsey special today.
