Today, we celebrate another year of history, heart, and community in Woolsey, Georgia, a small town with a charming spirit and deep roots in Fayette County’s story.

Woolsey was officially incorporated as a town on December 16, 1893 by the Georgia General Assembly, giving the community its formal start as a local center of life and commerce.

From its early days as a thriving cotton town with a depot, school, bank, and general stores to today’s quiet charm and friendly neighbors, Woolsey’s journey is a testament to the resilience and community pride of its residents.

As we mark this special birthday, we honor the people, past and present, who have shaped Woolsey’s character. From longtime families to newcomers, each person helps keep Woolsey’s small-town values alive and thriving.
